接觸器分為交流接觸器（電壓AC）和直流接觸器（電壓DC），它應(yīng)用于電力、配電與用電場合。接觸器廣義上是指工業(yè)電中利用線圈流過電流產(chǎn)生磁場，使觸頭閉合，以達(dá)到控制負(fù)載的電器。

在電工學(xué)上，因為可快速切斷交流與直流主回路和

可頻繁地接通與大電流控制（達(dá)800A）電路的裝置，所以經(jīng)常運用于電動機做為控制對象﹐也可用作控制工廠設(shè)備﹑電熱器﹑工作母機和各樣電力機組等電力負(fù)載，接觸器不僅能接通和切斷電路，而且還具有低電壓釋放保護作用。接觸器控制容量大，適用于頻繁操作和遠(yuǎn)距離控制,是自動控制系統(tǒng)中的重要元件之一。

在工業(yè)電氣中，接觸器的型號很多，工作電流在5A-1000A的不等，其用處相當(dāng)廣泛。

交流接觸器利用主接點來控制電路，

用輔助接點來導(dǎo)通控制回路。

主接點一般是常開接點，而輔助接點常有兩對常開接點和常閉接點，小型的接觸器也經(jīng)常作為中間繼電器配合主電路使用。

交流接觸器的接點，由銀鎢合金制成，具有良好的導(dǎo)電性和耐高溫?zé)g性。

交流接觸器動作的動力源于交流通過帶鐵芯線圈產(chǎn)生的磁場，電磁鐵芯由兩個「山」字形的幼硅鋼片疊成，其中一個固定鐵芯，套有線圈，工作電壓可多種選擇。為了使磁力穩(wěn)定，鐵芯的吸合面加上短路環(huán)。交流接觸器在失電后，依靠彈簧復(fù)位。

另一半是活動鐵芯，構(gòu)造和固定鐵芯一樣，用以帶動主接點和輔助接點的閉合斷開。

20A以上的接觸器加有滅弧罩，利用電路斷開時產(chǎn)生的電磁力，快速拉斷電弧，保護接點。

接觸器可高頻率操作，做為電源開啟與切斷控制時﹐操作頻率可達(dá)每小時1200次。

接觸器的使用壽命很高，機械壽命通常為數(shù)百萬次至一千萬次，電壽命一般則為數(shù)十萬次至數(shù)百萬次。

技術(shù)發(fā)展

交流接觸器制作為一個整體，外形和性能也在不斷提高，但是功能始終不變。

無論技術(shù)的發(fā)展到什麼程度，普通的交流接觸器還是有其重要的地位。

空氣式電磁接觸器（英文：Magnetic Contactor）：主要由接點系統(tǒng)、電磁操動系統(tǒng)、支架、輔助接點和外殼（或底架）組成。

因為交流電磁接觸器的線圈一般采用交流電源供電，在接觸器激磁之后，通常會有一聲高分貝的“咯”的噪音，這也是電磁式接觸器的特色。

80年代后，各國研究交流接觸器電磁鐵的無聲和節(jié)電，基本的可行方案之一是將交流電源用變壓器降壓后，再經(jīng)內(nèi)部整流器轉(zhuǎn)變成直流電源后供電，但此復(fù)雜控制方式并不多見。

真空接觸器：真空接觸器是接點系統(tǒng)采用真空消磁室的接觸器。

半導(dǎo)體接觸器：半導(dǎo)體接觸器是一種通過改變電路回路的導(dǎo)通狀態(tài)和斷路狀態(tài)而完成電流操作的接觸器。

永磁接觸器：永磁交流接觸器是利用磁極的同性相斥、異性相吸的原理，用永磁驅(qū)動機構(gòu)取代傳統(tǒng)的電磁鐵驅(qū)動機構(gòu)而形成的一種微功耗接觸器。

按主觸點連接回路的形式分為：直流接觸器、交流接觸器。

按操作機構(gòu)分為：電磁式接觸器、永磁式接觸器。

永磁交流接觸器是利用磁極的同性相斥、用永磁驅(qū)動機構(gòu)取代傳統(tǒng)的電磁鐵驅(qū)動機構(gòu)而形成的一種微功耗接觸器國內(nèi)成熟的產(chǎn)品型號：CJ20J、NSFC1、NSFC2、NSFC3、NSFC4、NSFC5、NSFC12、NSFC19、CJ40J、NSFMR。

接觸器總體的發(fā)展趨勢將朝著長電氣壽命、高可靠性、多功能、環(huán)保型、多規(guī)格、智能化、可通信化的方向發(fā)展。

混合式直流接觸器

直流電流與交流電流相比較，不存在周期性的電流數(shù)值過零點，因此，傳統(tǒng)接觸器開斷電路時，觸頭之間產(chǎn)生的電弧較為強烈，燃弧時間也比較長，以便充分釋放電路中剩余的能量。電弧的燃燒產(chǎn)生高溫和強光，對觸頭表面有嚴(yán)重的燒蝕作用，觸頭材料在多次開斷之后逐漸流失，觸頭電磨損嚴(yán)重時，導(dǎo)致直流接觸器報廢，不能開斷電路。 

電力電子技術(shù)得以迅猛發(fā)展，人們將電力電子元件應(yīng)用到直流接觸器中，巧妙的創(chuàng)造出一種混合式直流接觸器，使得直流接觸器向智能化、可控化邁進(jìn)了新的一步。這種混合式接觸器利用傳統(tǒng)直流接觸器在閉合導(dǎo)通狀態(tài)下觸頭接觸電阻小、導(dǎo)通壓降小的優(yōu)點，將由反并聯(lián)晶閘管和控制模塊單元共同組成的無觸點開關(guān)并聯(lián)在傳統(tǒng)直流接觸器觸頭上。這種無觸點的電力電子開關(guān)分?jǐn)嚯娐窌r不產(chǎn)生電弧，這就避免了傳統(tǒng)接觸器中電弧對觸頭材料的電磨損，也就大大增加了觸頭的使用壽命和可靠性。

直流接觸器永磁機構(gòu)

直流接觸器作為應(yīng)用廣泛的電氣開關(guān)之一，其生產(chǎn)和需求數(shù)量巨大，在正常使用過程中，電磁鐵線圈一直通電工作，產(chǎn)生電磁吸力，保證鐵芯和銜鐵吸合，帶動動、靜觸頭閉合，接通電路。在上述過程中，線圈本身存在電阻，持續(xù)消耗電能，這是直流接觸器主要的使用成本之一，浪費了大量的能源和財產(chǎn)，因此，如何降低直流接觸器的工作耗能，是研究直流接觸器的關(guān)鍵點和重難點。直流接觸器永磁操動機構(gòu)是一種在傳統(tǒng)直流接觸器電磁操動機構(gòu)基礎(chǔ)上發(fā)展而來，將電磁操動機構(gòu)和永磁鐵相結(jié)合的混合型操動機構(gòu)，不單單使用原有的電磁吸力和彈簧反力作為鐵心吸合與分離的動力，而是加入了永磁鐵對鐵心的吸引力，采用儲能電容充放電提供合閘、分閘電力，通常稱之為“電磁操動，永磁保持，電子控制”。在分、合閘運動過程中，電磁吸力，永磁吸力與彈簧作用力共同作用，在穩(wěn)定工作過程中，采用永磁吸力代替之前的電磁吸力，保持銜鐵與鐵芯心的吸合狀態(tài)。一則，永磁操動機構(gòu)大量節(jié)約了保持線圈的電能消耗，環(huán)保節(jié)能。二則，永磁體保持吸合與電磁吸合相比，噪音低，無污染。三則，永磁操動機構(gòu)剔除了電磁機構(gòu)中一系列復(fù)雜繁瑣鎖扣保護裝置，大大提高了接觸器操動機構(gòu)的工作可靠性，降低了生產(chǎn)工序和成本，減小了接觸器的體積。
